Specificity
This item recognises CD271, a transmembrane protein of 70-75kDa, otherwise known as Nerve Growth Factor Receptor (NGFR). It is a pro-apoptotic member of the tumour necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) family and its ligands include NGF, brain derived growth neurotrophic factor (BDNF), NT3 and NT4.
CD271 has been shown to interact with tropomyosin-receptor-kinase A (TrkA) forming the high-affinity NGF receptor, while CD271 can signal alone, constituting the low-affinity NGF receptor. When signalling alone, CD271 is involved in apoptosis, neurite outgrowth during development and myelination.
Mutations and changes in CD271 expression have been implicated in various pathological diseases including Alzheimer's Disease, cerebral oedema and retinoblastoma.

Product Notes
The CD271 ngfr (Catalog #AAA49914) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI HUMAN CD271 reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD271 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot), IHC (Immunohistochemistry). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD271 ngfr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD271, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
