Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C for one year. After reconstitution, at 4 degree C for one month. It can also be aliquoted and stored frozen at -20 degree C for a longer time. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Background: The PER2 gene encodes the period circadian protein homolog 2 protein in humans. It has been showed that PER2 can positively stimulate activity of the Bmal1-Npas2 transcription complex and, in turn, Npas2 transcriptionally regulates delta-aminolevulinate synthase. PER2 is involved in a negative-feedback loop that attenuates estrogen stimulation and links the circadian cycle to estrogen receptor signaling. What's more, the PER2 gene also functions in tumor suppression by regulating DNA damage-responsive pathways.
