Rat
Clonality
Polyclonal
Specificity
Specific for IFNAR1 protein phosphorylated at Ser535,539. Note: the molecular weight of the IFNAR1 varies with cell line (different levels of glycosylation) in 293 and HeLa Cells; the mature form is ~110 - 130k.
Purity/Purification
Affinity Purified (Prepared from rabbit serum by affinity purification via sequential chromatography on phospho- and dephosphopeptide affinity columns.)
Form/Format
100 ul in 10 mM HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 ug per ml BSA and 50% glycerol. Adequate amount of material to conduct 10-mini Western Blots
Sequence Length
557
Applicable Applications for anti-IFNAR1 antibody
Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Application Notes
Quality Control: Western blots performed on each lot.
WB: 1:1000
IHC: 1:1000
Antigen
Phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding the phospho-Ser535,539 of human interferon-alpha receptor, type I, subunit I (IFNAR1).
Immunogen Information
Synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Ser535/539 conjugated to KLH
Immunogen Species
Human
Reactivity Assumed Based on 100% Sequence Homology
Bovine, canine, human, mouse, non-human primates and sheep
Species Reactivity Note
The antibody has been directly tested for reactivity in Western blots with rat tissue. It is anticipated that the antibody will react with bovine, canine, human, mouse, non-human primates and sheep based on the fact that these species have 100% homology with the amino acid sequence used as antigen.
Biological Significance
Interferons are widely used therapeutic agents because of their anti tumor and antiviral effects and because of their modulatory effects on the immune system (Biron, 2001; Kirkwood, 2002). These cytokines produce their effects by binding to the Type 1 Interferon-alpha Receptor (IFNAR1). Down regulation of this receptor plays a key role in determining the magnitude and duration of cytokine signaling. This down regulation is thought to be influenced by phosphorylation of Serine 535 and 539 in the IFNAR1 (Kumar et al., 2003).
Preparation and Storage
For long term storage -20 degree C is recommended. Stable at -20 degree C for at least 1 year.

Product Notes

The IFNAR1 ifnar1 (Catalog #AAA14231) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Phospho-Ser535,539 Interferon-alpha Receptor, Type I, Subunit I reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Interferon-a Receptor, Type I, Subunit I (Ser535,539) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Quality Control: Western blots performed on each lot. WB: 1:1000 IHC: 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IFNAR1 ifnar1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interferon-a Receptor, Type I, Subunit I (Ser535,539), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
