Specificity
This antibody is specific for amino acids 411-424 of human cytokeratin 20. Cytokeratins are intermediate filaments found in the intracytoplasmic cytoskeleton of epithelial tissue. There are 19 keratin polypeptides are found in human epithelium. Cytokeratin 20 plays a significant role in maintaining keratin filament organization in intestinal epithelia. When phosphorylated, it plays a role in the secretion of mucin in the small intestine.
