Principle of the Assay: Human Runt-related Transcription Factor 3 (RUNX3) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate RUNX3 in samples. An antibody specific for RUNX3 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any RUNX3 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, HRP-Conjugated Human RUNX3 detection antibody is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound HRP reagent, a Chromogen solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of RUNX3 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background/Introduction: RUNX3 is a member of the runt domain-containing family of transcription factors. A heterodimer of this protein and a beta subunit forms a complex that binds to the core DNA sequence 5'-PYGPYGGT-3' found in a number of enhancers and promoters, and can either activate or suppress transcription. It also interacts with other transcriptionally silenced in cancer. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Runx3 null mouse gastric mucosa exhibits hyperplasia due to stimulated proliferation and suppressed apoptosis in epithelial cells, and the cells are resistant to TGF-beta stimulation.

Product Notes
The Human RUNX3 runx3 (Catalog #AAA330977) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA330977 ELISA Kit recognizes Human RUNX3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Runt-Related Transcription Factor 3 (RUNX3), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
