MDK recombinant protein
Human MDK Protein, hFc Tag
Gene Names
MDK; MK; ARAP; NEGF2
Purity
>95.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE and Coomassie blue staining.Synonyms
MDK; N/A; Human MDK Protein, hFc Tag; Midkine; MK; ARAP; Midgestation and kidney protein; Neurite outgrowth-promoting factor 2; Neurite outgrowth-promoting protein; MDK recombinant protein
Host
HEK293
Purity/Purification
>95.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE and Coomassie blue staining.
Form/Format
Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH7.4. Normally 5%-8% trehalose is added as protectants before lyophilization. Please see Certificate of Analysis for specific instructions.
Concentration
0.95mg/mL (varies by lot)
Tag
C-Human Fc tag
Molecular Characterization
MDK(Val21-Asp143) hFc(Glu99-Ala330)
Molecular Weight Note
The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 39.6 kDa after removal of the signal peptide. The apparent molecular mass of MDK-hFc is approximately 35-55 kDa due to glycosylation.
Reconstitution
1: Before opening the tube cap, centrifuge the sample tube at 5000g for 3-5min at room temperature to ensure the lyophilized sample to settle down at the bottom of the tube.
2: Dissolved lyophilized protein sample in sterile water based on the recommended volume 105.26ul.
3:After adding sterile water, cover the lid and mix them by gently tapping the tube for 5-10 times. Note: Do not vortex or vigorously pipette sample.

Recombinant human MDK protein with C-terminal human Fc tag
This gene encodes a member of a small family of secreted growth factors that binds heparin and responds to retinoic acid. The encoded protein promotes cell growth, migration, and angiogenesis, in particular during tumorigenesis. This gene has been targeted as a therapeutic for a variety of different disorders. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]

Product Notes
The MDK mdk (Catalog #AAA47549) is a Recombinant Protein produced from HEK293 and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MDK, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
