Related Product Information for anti-ACC1 antibody
Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) is a complex multifunctional enzyme system which catalyzes the carboxylation of acetyl-CoA to malonyl-CoA, the rate-limiting step in fatty acid synthesis. Exercise diminishes the activity of acetyl-CoA carboxylase in human muscle. ACCalpha (ACC1) is the rate-limiting enzyme in the biogenesis of long-chain fatty acids, and ACCbeta (ACC2) may control mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation. These two isoforms of ACC control the amount of fatty acids in the cells. The catalytic function of ACCalpha is regulated by phosphorylation (inactive) and dephosphorylation (active) of targeted serine residues and by allosteric transformation by citrate or palmitoyl-CoA, which serve as the enzymes short-term regulatory mechanism. The gene encoding ACCalpha maps to human chromosome 17 and encodes a form of ACC, which is the major ACC in lipogenic tissues. The catalytic core of ACCbeta is homologous to that of the ACCalpha, except for an additional peptide of about 150 amino acids at the N-terminus.

Product Notes

The ACC1 acaca (Catalog #AAA312708) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Acetyl CoA Carboxylase 1 (ACC1) Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Acetyl CoA Carboxylase 1 (ACC1) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IHC (Immunohistochemistry), IF (Immunofluorescence), ICC (Immunocytochemistry), WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ACC1 acaca for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Acetyl CoA Carboxylase 1 (ACC1), Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
