Specificity
Mutations in DNA mismatch repair genes are associated with hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC). Initially, inherited mutations in the MSH2 and MLH1 homologs of the bacterial DNA mismatch repair genes MutS and MutL were found at high frequency in HNPCC and were shown to be associated with microsatellite instability. The demonstration that 10 to 45% of pancreatic, gastric, breast, ovarian and small cell lung cancers also display microsatellite instability has been interpreted to suggest that DNA mismatch repair is not restricted to HNPCC tumors but is a common feature in tumor initiation or progression.

Product Notes

The MSH2 msh2 (Catalog #AAA23925) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MSH2 (DNA Mismatch Repair Marker) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MSH2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin. Flow Cytometry (1-2ug/million cells) Immunofluorescence (1-2ug/ml) Western Blot (1-2ug/ml) Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed) (1-2ug/ml for 30 min at RT) (Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10mM Tris with 1mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes) Optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MSH2 msh2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MSH2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
