Related Product Information for anti-BMI-1 antibody
Short Description: AbFlex antibodies are recombinant antibodies (rAbs) that have been generated using defined DNA sequences to produce highly specific, reproducible antibodies. Each AbFlex antibody contains a 6xHis-tag, a Biotinylation Tag for enzymatic biotin conjugation using the biotin ligase, BirA, and a sortase recognition motif (LPXTG) to attach a variety of labels directly to the antibody including fluorophores, enzymatic substrates (HRP, AP), peptides, drugs as well as solid supports. Our AbFlex BMI-1 antibody (rAb) was raised in a Mouse host. It has been validated for use in Chromatin Immunoprecipitation, ChIP-Seq and Western blot; it has been shown to react with Human and Mouse samples.

Background: AbFlex antibodies are recombinant antibodies (rAbs) that have been generated using defined DNA sequences to produce highly specific, reproducible antibodies. BMI-1 is a member of the Polycomb PRC1 complex that is recruited to transcriptionally repressed genes subsequent to histone H3 lysine 27 methylation in order to maintain repression. In the PRC1 complex, BMI-1 is required to stimulate the E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase activity of RNF2/RING2, resulting in the ubiquitylation of histone H2A at lysine 119. BMI-1 acts as an oncogene and cooperates with c-myc in the initiation of lymphoma. High levels of expression of BMI-1 are observed in metastatic melanoma, and BMI-1 has been implicated in several other cancers. BMI-1 is required for hematopoietic stem cell self renewal.

Product Notes

The BMI-1 bmi1 (Catalog #AAA60271) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AbFlex BMI-1 antibody (rAb) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's BMI-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot), ChIP (Chromatin immunoprecipitation), ChIP (Chromatin immunoprecipitation). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BMI-1 bmi1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BMI-1, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
