2. Recombinant Human MMP-9 Protein cleave the fluorogenic peptide substrate, Mca-PLGL-Dpa-AR-NH2. The specific activity is >468 pmol/min/ug, as measured under the described conditions.
After reconstitution, the protein solution is stable at -20 degree C for 3 months, at 2-8 degree C for up to 1 week. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles

(Recombinant Human MMP-9/CLG4B Protein was determined by SDS-PAGE with Coomassie Blue, showing a band at approximately 100 kDa.)
Background: Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases. The enzyme encoded by this gene degrades type IV and V collagens. Studies in rhesus monkeys suggest that the enzyme is involved in IL-8-induced mobilization of hematopoietic progenitor cells from bone marrow, and murine studies suggest a role in tumor-associated tissue remodeling.

Product Notes
The MMP9 mmp9 (Catalog #AAA281425) is an Active Protein produced from HEK293 Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MMP-9/CLG4B, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
