Applications: Western Blot
Molecular Weight: ~37 kDa
Gene Aliases: MGC8367
Scientific Background: PCNA is a nuclear protein whose appearance correlates with the proliferative state of the cells and is a cofactor of DNA polymerase delta. PCNA is a homotrimer and helps increase the processivity of leading strand synthesis during DNA replication. In response to DNA damage, PCNA is ubiquitinated and is involved in the RAD6-dependent DNA repair pathway. Immunofluorescence studies have shown that p300 may play a role in DNA repair synthesis through its interaction with PCNA. In vitro and in vivo p300 forms a complex with PCNA that does not depend on the S phase of the cell cycle and stimulates DNA synthesis in vitro (1). PCNA interacts with the Williams syndrome transcription factor (WSTF) allowing it to target to DNA replication foci, that then allows recruitment of SNF2H (2).

Product Notes
The PCNA pcna (Catalog #AAA72901) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His tag!!Expression System||E.coli!!Source Note||Recombinant full-length human PCNA was expressed by E. coli cells. AAA Biotech's PCNA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PCNA pcna for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PCNA, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
